Our eyes meet and I stop
Because I don't want to see
But I can't look away

You're eyes are dark and soft
But now they are empty

Those eyes that have so often held
Your hope, your fear, your love- empty
I wonder what you see in mine

What do my eyes betray
That I have tried to hide so hard
What secrets in those eyes?

Hurt? for the pain you've cost me?
Anger? for your betrayal?
Fear? for your discoveries?

Disappointment? Because you broke your promise?
Remorse? That I didn't see the end?
Longing? For what used to be?

Confusion? of why you left me?
Wonderment? That you don't care?
Love? Because I never stopped loving you.
